Darutoside is the name for the active ingredient obtained from the herb Siegesbeckia orientalis. This herb has been used for centuries externally to sooth inflammation and stimulate wound healing, which it does through tissue regeneration by way of collagen matrix build up. A now expired patent by Pierre Fabre Medicaments describes Darutoside's ability to stimulate wound healing, to promote more regular tissue renewal, to increase the normal appearance of scars and to fully restore elasticity to damaged skin with collagen fibers arranged in regular fashion. Darutoside enriched total extracts of Siegesbeckia orientalis have shown anti-inflammatory properties, inhibition of collagenase and protection from UV induced erythema. I am 2 months post partum and my pregnancy left me with a lot of deep purple and dark brown to black stretch marks on my thighs, breast, butt, and tummy its a night mare! i used so many stretch marks creams and lotion from the time i was pregnant and none of them worked until i came across this one, i saw my deep stretch marks getting lighter on my first week of using it and slowly fading and revealing my old beautiful skin. This product exceeded my expectations... I saw results instantly. I've been applying the cream for two weeks and my marks have shown considerable improvement. by the way, I've had two children and the stretch marks are deep and it has also worked amazingly on my c-section scar. For a while, I gave up on stretch mark creams, this product has renewed my hopes. I did not think my scars could be healed this quickly with a cream. I bought this product because I had marks both white and red from growth spurts. It's very important to follow the directions and use it consistently, stretch marks will lighten and fade. I will absolutely continue to use this product because it WORKS!
